|
Step 1: To remove your old interface display card, and install its
replacement, first remove the four screws holding down the top, by using an
Allen wrench. Be sure your synth is
unplugged before beginning the process. |
|
Step 2 (shown below): Lift the hinged top of the
synth's shell. The interface display's circuit card is shielded by a piece
of brown card-like paper stock. (It is this way from the factory.) |
 |
 |
|
Step 3: Disconnect the interface display's two connection cables.
These cables provide all the power and communication buses to the interface
display (the cables are shown below). |
 |
 |
|
Step 4 (optional): This auction's winner will receive replacements
for the two cables. You can either reuse your existing cables
(disconnect them from the old display, at the connection points seen above),
or remove your existing cables and use the replacements. To do that,
disconnect the old connection cables from the mother board, at the
connection points seen below. |
 |
 |
 |
 |
|
Step 5: Remove the old interface display.
-
First, remove the two data entry slider knobs on the top of
the keyboard. They just snap off, and then back on after you're done
reinstalling.
-
Then (inside the unit), unscrew all the black screws that
are holding the brown heat shield and display's circuit card up to and
against the underside of the synth's upper shell (some of these screws can
be seen in the photos above).
-
Carefully pull the circuit card and brown heat shield
straight out.
-
Note the tube-like protrusions that have "light tips" (LEDs)
at their tops. When you install the replacement, those will need to be
aligned properly, under and then "into" the buttons they're made to light
up.
Finally, install: Now, reverse the whole process.
You're done! |
